**Day 1: Salta**
Arrive and transfer to your hotel where you will spend two nights in this city known for its Andean culture and colonial architecture. The remainder of the day is at leisure.

**Day 2: Salta**
Enjoy a tour of the city and surrounds. Admire the glorious colonial architecture, visiting the Cathedral of Salta and the San Francisco Church before taking in the vista from San Bernardo Hill. Continue to the nearby village of San Lorenzo and see the Battle of Salta monument before rounding off your tour with a visit to the lively artisan markets.

**Day 3: Salta > Purmamarca > Tilcara > Humahuaca > Purmamarca**
Travel through the Quebrada de Humahuaca Valley, home to dramatic rock formations. Admire the beauty of the famous ‘hill of seven colours’ and see indigenous Quechuan villages. On arrival in Purmamarca, take a short walking tour to the main plaza with it’s the charming adobe church, and visit a local market. Continue to Tilcara and enjoy a visit to Pucara and the Archaeological Museum. Then visit the wonderfully painted church at Uquia, before returning to your hotel in Purmamarca.

**Day 4: Purmamarca > Iruya > Purmamarca**
Tour the remote village of Iruya, with its pre-Columbian architecture reflecting its great culture and historical origin. In August each year, the local people celebrate their connection to ‘Mother Earth,’ with the Andean festival of Pachamama. This area was part of the southern-most extent of the Inca Empire, so has strong indigenous connections to that great civilization, reflected in the beliefs and festivals of the local people.

**Day 5: Purmamarca > San Salvador de Jujuy Salta**
Transfer back to Salta, with a visit to the provincial capital of San Salvador de Jujuy enroute.

**Day 6: Salta > Cafayate > Salta**
Enjoy a full day trip to Cafayate, famous for the Torrontes wine production. During the drive through the UNESCO listed Quebrada de Cafayate, you will admire and appreciate some amazing natural rock formations. Among the most famous include the Devil’s Throat, the Amphitheatre, El Sapo (the frog), El Fraile, the Obelisk and the Castles. On arrival into the town of Cafayate, enjoy a wine cellar visit and lunch, before returning to Salta.

**Day 7: Salta**
Today transfer back to Salta Airport for your departure flight, where arrangements conclude.
