**Day 1: Arusha > Tarangire **
From Arusha, depart early and drive to Tarangire National Park. During the dry season (June to September) thousands of animals including elephant, buffalo, giraffe, wildebeest, kudu, and the rarely seen oryx migrate from the dry Masai steppe to the Tarangire River in search of water. Spend the day enjoying game drives in the area, with picnic lunch included. Overnight at a tented camp in Tarangire.
**Day 2: Tarangire National Park**
Enjoy a day at leisure. You can go on morning game drive in Tarangire or relax at your accommodation. Overnight at a lodge.
**Day 3: Tarangire > Karatu / Ngorongoro**
This morning depart Tarangire and head for the highlands of Karatu, stopping on the way to view Manyara and the escarpment below. Presided over by the towering Ol Deani Volcano, the small, colourful town of Karatu offers a variety of activities including a the bustling marketplace, and is a chance to enjoy an authentic rural Tanzania experience. Enjoy a tour of the Ngorongoro Crater this afternoon (or tomorrow morning). The volcanic caldera of Ngorongoro offers spectacular game viewing in its crater. We can almost guarantee you four of the Big Five will show up, as well as a rich variety of birds, all viewed against the backdrop of the thickly forested crater walls. Varied terrains and dramatic landscapes consisting of forest, grasslands and both freshwater and soda lakes make the Ngorongoro Crater a true marvel of creation. Overnight either at the crater’s rim or in Karatu.
**Days 4 – 6: Karatu / Ngorongoro > Serengeti**
Continue your journey to into the heart of the Serengeti today. This renowned National Park is unequalled for its beauty and home to more than three million large mammals spread over the vast endless plains. It is here, at certain times of the year, that we may encounter the breathtaking spectacle of the annual wildebeest migration, where one and a quarter million wildebeest trek in columns of up to 40 km long in search of grazing, drawing with them their predators and numerous other species of game.
**Day 7: Serengeti > Kilimanjaro**
On your final day, after your breakfast, enjoy a scenic flight over the Rift Valley en route to Kilimanjaro International Airport.

Enjoy the most memorable sunrise you may ever experience at the top of Mount Kilimanjaro! Mt Kilimanjaro is situated south of the equator in Tanzania and, at 5,895 m, is Africa’s tallest mountain and the highest ‘free standing’ mountain in the world. Huge permanent glaciers flow down from the summit, and spectacular views and beautiful ice formations are the reward for the successful trekker, as well as the satisfaction of conquering this mighty peak.
As you hike through the lush green rainforest from the Machame Gate you realize that you have just embarked on an adventure of a lifetime! Giant tree ferns flourish underneath huge tropical trees decorated with Oldman’s Beard (usnea lichen) and pretty flowers including a variety of lilies and hibiscus. Colobus and Blue monkeys may often be seen jumping between these ancient trees with an abundance of birdlife and these forests are never quiet.
