I am in love with CANADA…it ticks all my boxes for stunning scenery = the Rockies, abundant wildlife = Banff and Jasper National Parks and my upfront and personal bearwatching experience at the amazing Sonora Resort, with 18 grizzly bears feasting on salmon was outstanding. Canada also has fabulous food ,wine and micro brewerys galore.
Vancouver is a city of wonderful contrasts…..over 40 different nationalities and the cafes, restaurants and fab food carts (Tacofino Cantina was my Favourite cart, fish tacos to fight over and choc chilli brownie !) all reflecting the cities diversity. A super easy city to navigate, walking or buses. Staying downtown at Fairmont Pacific Rim will fit the bill and then some.
Hiring a bike is a must with bikeways trailing throughout the city and Stanley park on your doorstep…super easy for all ages and bike abilities.
You could have left me in Banff…Heart of the Rockies ( Queenstown on steroids !) wonderful hiking and mountainbiking trails to explore…
My biggest tip is you will see such amazing lakes, rivers and mountains….. pop your camera in your pocket, take a deep breath and just enjoy .
