Bali Adventures with a Difference
Wine Tasting at Sababay Winery – A Unique, Female-Run Experience
Sababay Winery is a standout on Bali's cultural map, not just for its quality wine but for its inspiring backstory. Founded by a passionate Balinese woman, Sababay is the only winery on the island, and it has built a reputation for its innovative winemaking practices. Interestingly, Sababay doesn't have its own vineyards but works closely with local farmers to source their grapes, making it a truly collaborative effort rooted in community.
A visit to Sababay is a must-do for wine lovers and curious travelers alike. Tucked away from Bali’s bustling tourist hubs, Sababay offers a tranquil escape where you can enjoy tastings in a lush garden or a relaxed indoor setting. Their wine selection is impressive, with options to suit all palates. After the tasting, relax with a gourmet picnic basket or savour a leisurely lunch. Spending half a day here is the perfect way to experience the peaceful side of Bali, and you’ll be supporting an empowering female-run venture.
Coffee Tastings and Tours at Bali Pulina Plantation
For a taste of Bali’s famous coffee, head to Bali Pulina Coffee Plantation in Ubud. Located just 20 minutes from the cultural heart of Ubud, Bali Pulina is easily accessible by car or taxi. The plantation offers a fascinating glimpse into the traditional methods of coffee production, and you can sample different varieties of locally-grown coffee, including the famous (and rare) Kopi Luwak. Alongside coffee, you'll also get to try a range of Balinese herbal teas while soaking up breathtaking views of lush rice terraces. It’s a serene spot to enjoy a cup of something special while learning about Bali’s agricultural traditions.
Rusters Pottery Studio – Craft and Cuisine Combined
For a more creative escape, be sure to visit Rusters Pottery Studio, where you can participate in pottery workshops and create your own ceramic pieces. This charming studio is a haven for artists and beginners alike. After your class, unwind in the adjoining café with a coffee or a light bite, all while admiring the handcrafted pottery. It’s an experience that combines art, relaxation, and delicious refreshments.
Muddy Fun with ATV Adventures in Ubud
For thrill-seekers, Bali’s vibrant jungles and muddy landscapes offer the ultimate adrenaline rush. The ATV adventures in Ubud are a must-try for anyone seeking excitement beyond the beach. Traverse rugged trails through rice paddies, explore hidden caves, and splash through mud-filled tunnels on an unforgettable 90-minute ride. As you navigate these rugged landscapes, you'll pass under a scenic waterfall, adding to the adventure. Make sure to pack a change of clothes because you're sure to end this thrilling journey covered in mud!

One of the most unique and enchanting experiences in Lombok is the 48 underwater ‘love statues’ found around the Gili Islands.
