After hiring a bike and meandering my way from Siem Reap to Angkor Wat (gateway city to this incredible site) …I was blessed by a Buddhist monk in one of the awe inspiring temples that make up this amazing ancient city. Siem Reap has a large village atmosphere with must do vibrant night markets the best silver amber earrings ever and wonderful Khmer cuisine, delicate lemongrass curries accompanied with a super cold raspberry bellini…..and did I mention the $10 head and feet massages both at the same time !
USD dollars in small denominations is handy to pay for the mangosteens at the local market or the $1USD ride in the local tuk tuk…Angkor Wat is an experience not to be missed.
