Ken Were is the one who started it all, originally Were Travel Matamata before moving to the big smoke and re-naming to United Travel Newmarket and now YOU Travel Newmarket.

Ken’s travel experience spans the World, he has worked in Europe and Africa as a Tour Leader - trekked thru South America - coached though Asia and driven across the USA and Canada

With over 40 years’ experience you cannot beat his knowledge, and after all this time travel is still his biggest passion. You name it he’s been there and done that – come meet him and see for yourself.

Deanna is a specialist in creating unique experiences and is very passionate about travel. Deanna has travelled extensively which has given her first-hand knowledge and she has made it her personal goal to specialise in creating ever lasting memories and the best experiences she can for her clients, she builds fantastic relationships and truly understands the requirements and always delivers on these.

Deanna has had 18 years experience in the Travel Industry and has won many prestigious awards, Newmarket Young Business Person of the Year and United Travel Manager of the Year across all United Travel agencies and most recently New Zealand’s Travel Consultant of the year across all brands at the New Zealand Travel Industry awards.

Deanna is owner of YOU Travel Newmarket and as an owner-operator she completely understands the importance of values such as integrity, honesty, creativity, knowledge and good old-fashioned hard work, these are Deanna’s values that she will apply to ensure every trip is an outstanding success and leave you longing for the next one!

Terri started her career in the travel industry in the UK over 17 years ago gaining National Vocational Qualifications in Travel & Tourism. Terri moved to New Zealand in 2009 after falling in love with this country during one of her many overseas adventures. There is nothing Terri enjoys more than to help create a wonderful holiday for all her clients by giving the best, honest advice using her own personal experience and knowledge. 

During Terri’s time working in travel, she has been very fortunate to experience some amazing destinations including;

USA - Oregon, California, Nevada, New York, Florida and Hawaii

Canada – British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island

Caribbean – Mexico, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Caribbean Cruise onboard Norwegian Cruise Lines, Margarita Island in Venezuela,

Europe – UK (England, Scotland, Wales), Avalon River Cruise along the Rhine, Spanish Islands (Canary & Balearic), Greek Islands (Zante & Corfu), Belgium, Italy, Norway

Asia – Malaysia, Vietnam, Bali, Tokyo in Japan (Stopover on the way to Europe)

South Pacific and Oceania – Australia, Tonga, Samoa, New Caledonia, Fiji

South Africa – Cape Town, Safari, Durban, Drakensburg Mountains

Lynda has worked in the travel industry for approx. 30 years.  She has worked in both Corporate and Retail agencies in New Zealand and also worked for nearly 10 years in an Agency in London

Lynda has travelled extensively over the years while working in both NZ and London... cruising in Alaska, safari in South Africa, cruising the Galapagos Islands and relaxing in Rarotonga are some of her Favourite Destinations

Before starting my job here with YOU Travel I was working for Walt Disney World in Orlando Florida. I got myself over there by gaining an internship with the company through my Travel and Tourism Studies. While I was there I was also completing my Diploma in Travel and Tourism Management which I successfully gained by completing 400 hours with Disney as well as class work here in New Zealand.  

Places I have travelled to are Samoa, Australia, West and East coast of America as well as up and down the North and South islands of New Zealand.

Jaine Were, our Public Relations/Business Development Manager is responsible for the Corporate side of our Business, ensuring that as a Boutique Travel Company we provide excellent customer service & innovative travel opportunities for our clients.

Jaine's first job in the Travel Industry was with UTA French Airlines in 1975 on her return from her big OE. 5 years with Nathan's Travel which she worked in Retail & Wholesale & was based in Los Angeles taking New Zealanders to Disneyland enroute on their trip to UK. Jaine then was based in the UK looking after the reservation side of the NZ operation. On an Educational trip to Colorado skiing she met Ken who was from Were Travel Matamata, the rest is history!

Jaine has a vast knowledge of most destinations, especially Europe & would love to help you to plan your itinerary & places on or off the beaten track!
