**Day 1: Kota Kinabalu**
Upon your arrival in Kota Kinabalu in Malaysian Borneo, you will be warmly welcomed and transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the day is yours to enjoy at your leisure.

**Day 2: Kota Kinabalu > Kinabalu National Park > Kota Kinabalu**
Embark on a scenic two-hour journey overland to the foothills of Mt. Kinabalu. Along the way, briefly stop at the local market in Pekan Nabalu to stretch your legs and indulge in some seasonal fruits. Pause at various lookout points to capture breathtaking views of the majestic Mt. Kinabalu in the distance. Upon arrival at the park headquarters, immerse yourself in the Kinabalu Geopark Gallery and Botanical Garden. If weather permits, join a guided walk along one of the forest trails to discover the enchanting montane landscape. Later, savour a delightful lunch at a nearby restaurant before continuing to Poring for an exhilarating Canopy Walk experience. Finally, return to Kota Kinabalu, filled with unforgettable memories of your day’s adventure.

**Day 3: Kota Kinabalu > Sandakan > Sepilok**
Enjoy a leisurely morning before being picked up from your hotel and transferred to Kota Kinabalu Airport for your departure flight to Sandakan. Upon arrival at Sandakan Airport, you will be whisked to your hotel, the Sepilok Nature Lodge. Take advantage of the free time upon your arrival to relax and unwind. In the evening, embark on an adventure to the Rainforest Discovery Centre where you can explore the canopy walk and seek out wildlife with the guidance of your experienced guide.

**Day 4: Sepilok**
After breakfast, join your guide for a visit to the Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre for an up-close encounter with our closest relatives, the orangutans. Then, proceed to the nearby Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre, where you will learn about sun bears and the ongoing rescue efforts. Enjoy some free time in the afternoon to relax and explore at your leisure.

**Day 5: Sepilok > Abai, Kinabatangan**
Following breakfast, your journey leads you to the Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary, where you will trek to witness the feeding of the elusive Proboscis Monkeys and silver leaf langurs. Post exploration, you will head to the Sandakan Yacht Club jetty for a 1.5 hour river cruise to Abai, passing the weathered sandstone cliffs of Berhala Island before the landscape opens into Nipah palms, mangrove forest and the unhurried pace of riverside village life.

Upon arrival settle in, enjoy lunch, and receive a briefing about the lodging and activities. In the afternoon, embark on a open-topped river boat cruise, ideal time to see wildlife, including pygmy elephant, proboscis monkeys and wild orangutan. Marvel at the fireflies at dusk before returning to your accommodation for dinner. After enjoying your meal you will join a guided night walk along the boardwalk nearby your accommodation – sharpen your senses to the nocturnal rhythms of the Kinabatangan.

**Day 6: Abai, Kinabatangan**
Begin your day with an early morning river cruise to the oxbow lake Danau Pitas, where nature’s wonders await. The morning continues past Kampung Abai, a small fishing village.

Afterwards, return to the lodge for a tranquil and leisurely late morning stroll along the nature boardwalk, immersing yourself in the beauty. As the day progresses, venture out again in the late afternoon for another captivating cruise along the Kinabatangan River, seeking out wildlife amidst the breathtaking river landscape aglow with the setting sun. After dinner, a night river safari rounds out the day before you return to your lodge.

After your adventure, return to your accommodation for a delightful dinner.

**Day 7: Abai, Kinabatangan > Sukau, Kinabatangan**
Following a delightful breakfast, bid farewell to the lodge as you commence a scenic 90-minute boat journey to Sukau jetty. Upon reaching your destination, a brief boat transfer leads you to the enchanting Sukau Rainforest Lodge where you will stay in a Borneo Villa. After a satisfying lunch, enjoy leisure time at your own pace. As the day gently transitions into the evening, embark on a captivating late afternoon cruise, exploring the rich biodiversity of Borneo’s wildlife and birds. Return to the lodge for a delectable dinner at Melapi Restaurant, followed by an engaging slide presentation and insightful interpretation by a knowledgeable naturalist guide, providing a deeper connection to the wonders of the rainforest.

**Day 8: Sukau, Kinabatangan**
Awaken to the beauty of dawn as you begin a captivating morning river cruise up the Kinabatangan River to Kelenanap Oxbow Lake, where an array of birds and wildlife awaits your discovery. Following a satisfying breakfast, immerse yourself in the wonders of nature with a guided nature walk along the lodge’s Hornbill boardwalk, led by a knowledgeable in-house naturalist. Enjoy leisure time after a fulfilling lunch, savouring the tranquility of the surroundings. As the afternoon unfolds, set off on another exhilarating river cruise, adding to your repertoire of wildlife sightings and unforgettable experiences along the Kinabatangan River.

**Day 9: Sukau, Kinabatangan > Lahad Datu > Danum Valley**
Begin your day with a hearty breakfast before a short boat ride to Sukau jetty, where you will depart on a scenic two-hour overland trip to Lahad Datu, followed by a two-hour drive through forest roads into Danum Valley. Witness the mesmerising transition from regenerating forests to ancient virgin rainforests dating back millions of years. Upon arrival at the Borneo Rainforest Lodge, settle into your accommodation and meet your knowledgeable guide over a delicious lunch.

Watch a brief presentation about the planned activities for the next few days before heading out to a nature trail walk and a thrilling canopy walkway for a panoramic view of the rainforest. Conclude your day with a delightful dinner followed by an enthralling guided night safari offering glimpses of elusive nocturnal creatures amidst the lush jungle backdrop (weather permitting).

**Day 10: Danum Valley**
Awaken to the melodious calls of Borneo Gibbons as you commence your day with a guided trek to the Coffin Cliff viewpoint and burial site, immersing yourself in the rich history and breathtaking vistas. If you wish, you may continue to Fairy Falls before cooling off by the natural pool on the way back to your accommodation.

In the afternoon, after lunch, engage in a canopy walk with scenic views. Cap off your evening with a guided night walk along the nature trail, discovering the wonders of the forest under the enchanting veil of darkness.

**Day 11: Danum Valley**

Enjoy a morning trek along the Segama Trail that leads to a 500 year-old strangling fig tree, one of the forest’s most remarkable natural landmarks. Return to your lodge for lunch. The afternoon is free at leisure. You may wish to cycle through the rainforest trails, river rafting or join another guided trek. Later, a final night walk closes the day.

**Day 12: Danum Valley > Lahad Datu**
You have the option of enjoying an early morning walk, followed by a return to the lodge for lunch. Later, check out and enjoy a scenic 2.5 hour transfer to Lahad Datu Airport where your journey concludes.
