andBeyond Phinda Private Game Reserve encompasses an impressive 23,000 hectares of prime wilderness land in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.

Showcasing one of the continent’s finest game viewing experiences, including cheetah, Phinda features Africa’s Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino), endangered black rhino and 415 bird species. The Game Reserve is home to six magnificent lodges, each with its own individual charm and character: Mountain Lodge, Rock Lodge, Forest Lodge, Vlei Lodge, Zuka Lodge and Phinda Homestead.

Phinda is described as the ‘Seven Worlds of Wonder’, a magnificent tapestry of woodland, grassland, wetland and forest, interspersed with mountain ranges, river courses, marshes and pans. Phinda is a wilderness sanctuary where intimate encounters and rare discoveries can be experienced firsthand. With unspoiled beaches and spectacular reefs nearby, and an abundance of wildlife, Phinda offers the perfect bush and beach adventure.

**Phinda Private Game Reserve**

Kwazulu Natal Phinda is set in the warm climes near the Indian Ocean coast, just three hours; drive from Durban. With seven distinct ecosystems, it includes woodland, grassland, wetland and forest, mountain ranges, river courses, marshes and pans. A variety of incredible adventures are available, including twice-daily game drives where limited number of vehicles at sightings and sensitive off-roading practices affords close-up sightings of Big Five wildlife, nature walks, conservation and community experiences, sleep outs, village tours, an infrared Night Eye Experience, specialist safaris, as well as nearby ocean activities such as scuba diving and turtle hatching (seasonal and with a minimum 4 night stay required for the ocean activities).

Phinda is home to a magnificent variety of wildlife, including the Big Five, but is best known for its large population of cheetah and black rhino. The sand forest is home to the shy suni and the rare red duiker, two tiny antelope that are seldom encountered elsewhere.

Highly knowledgeable andBeyond-trained guides with the ability to do night drives, and other specialist safaris such as walking, tracking, photography or birding. Safaris can be tailor-made for private groups, families or specialist interests.
