YOU Travel Updates

Keeping you up to date...

12 May 2020

Monday's news has brought many of us a lot of joy as we slowly but surely make progress with our fight against COVID-19. With moving to Alert Level 2 comes the freedom for you to explore the extraordinary places right here on your doorstep.

Every YOU Travel is locally owned and operated by Kiwis who love travelling. Our strong relationship with our network of stores gives us an immense range of local knowledge to tap into to help plan the perfect NZ holiday for you.

If you're thinking about your next holiday, we would like to ask for your support so we can continue to keep you dreaming and travelling. Whether it be hiring a villa for a romantic weekend, flying to visit family, booking a golfing trip with a friend or taking a motorhome adventure to explore a different part of New Zealand, we have an extensive range of accommodation, sightseeing and activities on offer.

Many of our stores will be reopening on Thursday, however, your safety is of the utmost importance to us so we will be following the Ministry of Health guidelines such as regularly disinfecting surfaces, frequent hand washing, and of course, social distancing. We are still available by phone and email, or if you prefer to visit us in-store, please phone us ahead to book a suitable time for YOU.

Dear Valued YOU Travel Customer,

We're working from home but our business is still going!

During this time of uncertainty, keeping our services going and the safety of our staff remains key for us.

After the Government's announcement yesterday with the COVID-19 alert raised to level three, and again to level four 48 hours later, with all non-essential business being closed, effective as of the close of business today, 24 March 2020, we have ensured that staff work from home and will remain contactable.

What this means for you...
YOU Travel remains operational and we are working to minimise disruptions to our service. We are still committed to being there for you, our valued customers when you need us the most. As we continue to experience a high level of queries, we request that you keep the phone calls (which can still be made to our main line) for any urgent and time-sensitive queries at this time.
We ask you for your patience and encourage you to send your queries to us via email where possible; email us at [email protected], or contact your local store by calling 0800 968 872.

We sincerely thank you for your support and understanding through these unprecedented times, remain isolated if you are required to, and above all, please take care!

During these unprecedented times, we would like to update you with what is happening at YOU Travel & how we are managing the current situation.

As you can imagine, this is an extremely challenging situation which is changing on a daily basis and we are working tirelessly to deal with departures currently up until 31 May. For anyone travelling from June onwards, we would ask you to please wait for us to contact you when the time is right. We are finding that we are getting better solutions for our clients by waiting until you are covered by supplier travel deferment policies, rather than making the decision to cancel the trip on your own, as fees will be applicable.

We have amazing relationships with our airlines and suppliers which helps to make the change process easier with waivers. We also have the knowledge to do this. If we can’t fix it, we will wait on hold for hours on your behalf to find a solution. At YOU Travel, we have many years combined travel industry experience and we are working together to advocate the very best solution and outcome for you, our valued clients.

This is a difficult time for us all, with uncertainty about how long this situation will continue, and when we can expect things to begin to return to normal. We have been in business for a long time and operate a financially sound business that will ensure we are here to service you when the time is right to travel again.

The World is just too amazing not to see – and like you, we look forward to resuming our wanderlust as soon as possible.

We thank you for your patience, understanding, loyalty and support over this time.
