Houston

Houston

Houston is a huge city in Texas that stretches all the way to Galveston Bay. It would have to be the most recognised city of Texas and is a fantastic place to visit.

Start your touring with a visit to the The Museum of Fine Arts, Museum of Natural Science or the Kemah Boardwalk. The most famous attraction in the city would have to be the Space Centre Houston. An attraction well worth putting on your list. This is the official visitor centre of the NASA Johnson Space Center, which is the home of NASA's Mission Control and where American astronauts are offically trained.

What might surprise you is the fact that greater Houston is America’s most ethnically diversified metropolitan area. Residents speak at least 145 languages, and 90 nations have consular representation in the city. It goes without saying then that Houston is well-known for a variety of dishes and cuisines. Houston's most well-known foods are Vietnamese-Cajun crawfish, BBQ, breakfast tacos, chicken and waffles, tamales, pho, and kolaches. Vietnamese, Tex-Mex, and Louisiana Creole food are among the cuisines you will enjoy in Houston.

The Underground Tunnel System for Pedestrians in Houston covers just over 11kms of underground walkways. These tunnels allow you to walk (without taking a step outside) to from many different cit buildings, shops and hotels.

Visit the Houston Galleria for the largest mall in Texas, home to 375 shops, local food (you’re bound to find a child con carne!), two hotels and an indoor ice rink.

We can’t talk about Texas without mentioning a Rodeo or two! Actually, this state hosts one of the largest Rodeos in the world. The Houston’s rodeo and livestock show takes place over 20 days during March each year.
