Travel through scenic valleys, along the mighty Fraser River, through Hell’s Gate, and past the magnificent Pyramid Falls. This Rocky Mountaineer rail route, only accessible by train, also features the majestic Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies.
Day 1: Begin Your Journey
Departing from Vancouver, follow the scenic Fraser River east through the stunning Fraser Valley, where ever-changing landscapes set the tone for your journey ahead. Enjoy a freshly prepared breakfast onboard as the coastal scenery gradually gives way to the dramatic, desert-like terrain en route to Kamloops.
Savour a three-course lunch crafted by the onboard chef while your hosts share stories of the region’s history and culture. On arrival in Kamloops, disembark and take time to unwind — a leisurely riverside stroll is the perfect way to end the day.
Day 2: Kamloops to Japser
Rejoin the journey as you travel north-east through the picturesque Clearwater region, following the North Thompson River. Start the morning with breakfast and coffee as new landscapes unfold outside your window.
Pass by the spectacular Pyramid Falls, visible only from the train, before the scenery transforms once again into the rugged beauty of the Canadian Rockies. As towering peaks come into view, enjoy a gourmet lunch inspired by the flavours of Western Canada.
Along the way, learn about the fascinating history of the railway and the landmarks that define this iconic route. As you approach Jasper National Park, keep an eye out for Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies.
Arriving in Jasper, explore this charming alpine town at your leisure — perhaps enjoy a relaxed dinner at a local restaurant or indulge in an evening at the renowned Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge.
