Suggested Itinerary:
Day 1 - Arrive in Nouméa off your Air Calin flight mid afternoon. Collect your rental car from Tontouta International Airport and start your adventure in New Caledonia. Drive to Bourail (1 hour 30 minutes drive time).
The Sheraton New Caledonia Deva Spa & Resort is idyllic - offering a beautiful white-sand beach, iridescent blue lagoon, plus the huge resort pool at a perfect ‘mid-winter’ temperature of 25C. Day 2 - Day at leisure in Bourail
Since New Zealand soldiers set up a “vacation” camp at La Roche Percée in 1942, Bourail has become a top tourism spot in New Caledonia. From the sky, the lagoon and its lenticular reef, which is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is simply perfection. The village itself includes several cultural treasures, from the lighthouse at Gouaro to the old military post office, including the central magazine, which now houses the Bourail Museum.
You can even see the last guillotine that was used in New Caledonia! It is also worth a visit at the New Zealand military cemetery. As a haven of peace and a place of memorial, the site has serene beauty.

Day 3 - Drive from Bourail to Hienghène (3 hour drive time)
Uncover the wonders of the picturesque village and its breath-taking beach. Marvel at the rugged cliffs and pristine waters that make Hienghène a true hidden gem.

Day 4 - Drive from Hienghène to Poindimié (1.15 hour drive time)
Poindimié, is the main town on the east coast and is renowned for its lush valleys and its picturesque islands. This town, which is 309 km from Nouméa, has a population of around 6200 and belongs to the Paici-Camuki custom area. On the edge of the village of Poindimié, the Hotel Tiéti Poindimié is located on the most beautiful beach on the east coast of New Caledonia.

Day 6 - Drive from Poindimié to Nouméa (4 hour drive time)
With its cheerful multi-ethnic community, New Caledonia’s cosmopolitan capital is both sophisticated and uncomplicated, classy and casual. The relaxed city sits on a large peninsula, surrounded by picturesque bays, and offers visitors a variety of experiences. Diners can eat out at sassy French restaurants hidden in Quartier Latin, dine at bold water-fronting bistros or grab a bargain meal from a nocturnal van in a car park.

Day 8 - Drive back to Tontouta International Airport for your Air Calin flight departing early in the morning.
