Cinque Terre, Italy

What’s it all about: This is 5 little fishing villages on the coast of Italy, they are joined by train or walking tracks. They are such unique, cool little villages, somewhere a little different to the norm. We had a great time walking between the villages and having a drink or something to eat in each. After one of the bigger, harder walks we had to go for a much needed swim in the next village to cool off which was good fun too!

Unforgettable highlight(s): The views up in the cliffs when walking between the villages and all the awesome little old boats down by the water. They had great little shops and yummy local food too.

Insider tip(s): Bring your togs for a swim! Water was beautiful and nice to cool off if walking the tracks.

Suits a traveller who: Wants to get off the beaten track and see some amazing sights! It suits everyone really, you can catch the train between the villages if you’re not too keen on the walks, some are harder than others! Or if you’re up for some exercise the walks are great! You still get to visit all the villages, no matter how you travel between them – It’s an awesome little spot, somewhere a little different to the norm.

Travel essentials: Togs! If it’s hot like it was when we were there then you’ll need a quick dip and a cold beer!

Be aware: Like most places in Europe you just need to watch your belongings on trains especially. We didn’t have any trouble ourselves but did hear of people in other areas on our travels that weren’t so lucky. It’s all about being aware of your surroundings and travel smart!
